Zipper Pouch for Quilters: My Quilt Retreat Notions Bag

I’m getting ready to head off to a quilt retreat next week, and one of the first things I packed was my zipper pouch filled with all my essentials. To make sure I didn’t forget anything, I even created a quilt retreat packing list, it helps me stay organized and makes packing much less stressful.

For this pouch, I used my Iris Pouch pattern and some leftover quilt blocks from my Moda Blockheads Moonbeam block. These little 6 ½” star blocks came together by saving and sewing half-square triangles from my stitch-and-flip corners, a great way to make use of scraps!

Here’s what I tucked into my zipper pouch for foundation paper piecing:

  • Rotary cutter with extra blades
  • Add-A-Quarter ruler
  • Add-A-Eighth ruler
  • Seam roller
  • Glue pen
  • Small scissors/snips
  • Postcard
  • Seam ripper
  • Stiletto

Now my zipper pouch is not only practical, but it’s also a little reminder of another quilt project I loved working on. Perfect for a week of quilting with new and old friends!
