Stars Aglow Pillow Pattern – A Modern Take on a Classic Star Quilt Block

|

If you love traditional quilt blocks as much as I do, you know there’s something truly timeless about a star. Last year I made a Christmas star quilt and matching pillow, and I loved them so much I wanted to create a version I could use all year long. That’s how the Stars Aglow Pillow Pattern came to be!

This beginner-friendly quilted pillow pattern features a bold star design and is perfect for showcasing your favorite prints. It’s a great way to use fat eighths, and it stitches up quickly—perfect for weekend sewing.

A Fun Way to Sew Half Square Triangles

This star pillow uses the 4-at-a-time half square triangle method—a fast and efficient technique that works especially well with directional fabrics. I know sewing on the bias can feel tricky, but as long as you’re gentle and avoid stretching your fabric, you’ll be just fine. Plus, you’ll love how quickly the pieces come together!

If you’re new to half square triangles, this is a great place to practice. The pattern includes clear, step-by-step instructions to help you get perfect points and a beautiful finish.
