Points of Interest Block of the Month Update + Quilt Kits Available

|

Hi there! It’s been a little while since I shared an update on my Points of Interest Block of the Month project, hosted by American Patchwork & Quilting magazine. You can find the Points of Interest Block of the Month pattern and free block downloads at AllPeopleQuilt.com/PointsBOM. This quilt along runs from October 2025 through August 2026 (jump in anytime).

I did fall a bit behind, but for a good reason. I ran out of the background fabric I was using and needed to decide whether to track it down elsewhere just to finish my quilt, or bring it into my shop to share with you too.

Well… I couldn’t resist. I loved it too much not to carry it, so it’s officially in the shop now!

Quilt Kits for the Points of Interest Quilt

I now have two quilt kit options available:

If you’ve been wanting to start a block of the month quilt, this is a great time to jump in. You can find the free block patterns on All People Quilt and get started right away.

My Quilt Block Progress (Blocks A–D)

So far, I’ve completed:

  • Blocks A and B from the October 2025 issue
  • Blocks C and D from the December issue

I shared a few construction changes I made for Blocks A and B in [this post]. For Blocks C and D, I followed the directions exactly as written – gasp! 😊

Stitch and Flip Quilting Tip for Better Accuracy

Block C uses stitch-and-flip corners. The instructions say to “sew on the marked line”, but I recommend sewing just a thread’s width to the right of that line.

Since you’ll be pressing along the line, this tiny adjustment helps prevent the fold from taking up too much seam allowance, keeping your quilt blocks more accurate.

Catching Up on the Block of the Month Quilt

I’m really loving how this quilt is coming together. My goal is to be completely caught up by the end of this week – I’m cutting pieces for Blocks E and F today.

The blocks have all been quick and fun to sew, so if you’ve been thinking about joining in, you could absolutely catch up in a week with a little dedicated sewing time.

Shop Quilt Kits for Points of Interest

You can grab a Points of Interest quilt kit in my shop, and I’ll get it in the mail to you right away. If I run out, don’t worry – I’ll be restocking more.
